#DISNEY SONG BOOK TAG - Kind of Off Topic

For a moment away from Book lists and Reviews I give you...Disney Song Book Tag. I read  OddandBookish blog last night before going to bed.

A whole new world – Pick a book that made you see the world differently.

I read this in junior high probably sixth or seventh grade. This is the first book that I read that was censored in publication and not done by library staff. I don't know if all publications of this book have censored the words but it was in the copy that I had.
I found it hilarious and added to the reality of the events in this book. This book there is no physical villain, the character's aren't fighting evil monsters or people who want to take over the world. They're fighting against the life that they have and what they want to get out of it.
It is a great read and help prepare you as you age that the magics you believed as a kid aren't real..and life's just...there.

Cruella De Vil – Pick your favorite villain.

I almost missed this!

If I talk about the villains in this one thought it'd be a spoiler to the plot.
I won’t say I’m in love – Pick a book you didn’t want to admit you loved.
I haven't read something that would be embarrassing or hard to admit that I like. The closest I can get to not wanting to admit I loved a book would be Rhyming Dust Bunnies. For some reason going through teaching college and as a teacher...there seems to be some need to hate the kid content.
I don't know if it's the need to be to be seen as a professional so you must not like the material you teach with. But you're teaching, you should love at least parts of the books you read to the kids.

Gaston – Pick a character that you couldn’t stand

I'm using the manga classic for this. But I could not stand the husband in this book. He shows up and starts preying on the minister for his sins. The need to punish his wife that as far as you can tell.. he didn't care about her anyway.

Part of your world – Pick a book set in a universe you wish you could live in.

Any book that has some sort of happy-go magical realism. Just snips of magic that is small but can be helpful.

Someday my prince will come – What book character would you marry if you could?

I can't answer this one. I haven't read any book where I was, "I want to marry this person."

I see the light – Pick a book that changed your life

I'm using the Manga classic book cover again. I started reading this in fifth grade but then finished it in high school. Just because you have a high reading level at a young age doesn't mean you'll enjoy something fully at that age.
But the dreary life, not being attractive enough to have people feel for your circumstances. That the idea that you're not beautiful enough to believed or helped... hit me hard growing up.

It was hard to understand why I was always thought to be lying or that it was annoying to help me. I don't know 100% why my teachers or the adults in my life didn't care about circumstances..but reading this hit and helped understand why people seemed to struggle to want to help.

(I was severely bullied growing up but none of the teachers would help or believed me).

When you wish upon a star – Pick a book you wish you could reread for the first time.

A Natural History of Dragons by Marie Brennan. It starts off slow but I absolutely enjoy the story. I spent days reading it and not moving to get through it. I'm still not done with the series. I bought the last two books so I could get to it.
But I always worry if you ever end up with the ability to erase this moments so you can re-live the joy of it...would you still love it? When you first read it and fell in love with the story..was it the timing of the book? What if the day you were able to delete it from memory to re-read and you-now-with-deleted-memory don't like the book?

I just can’t wait to be king – Pick a book with some kind of monarchy in it

Most recent book that I've read that has a Monarchy. I sat here staring at my Goodreads acct
with blank mind trying to remember which books had one.

Colors of the wind – Pick a book with a beautiful colorful cover.

I have an entire Pinterest board dedicated to what I consider beautiful book covers. What covers

look like don't dictate what I'll read. But goodness gracious do I love pretty book covers.

I TAG…

Like OddandBookish   anyone who enjoys Disney & another excuse to talk about books.
